Dennis Barry

Barry (Abstract Expressionist) has no art education other than mechanical drawing.  He is a Mechanical Engineer, Mathematician, Draftsman, Statistician, Woodworker, and holds two patents for glass cutting and glass welding processes. His art was first discovered in 1992 by the Copeland Fine Art Gallery of Columbus Ohio.  Barry became a popular resident artist for the gallery until 2008 when he moved and the gallery closed due to the owner retiring.  His works have sold to many private collectors and corporate offices, including Colors Inc., ABB, Nationwide, and IBM.  His love for geometry, color, and abstract images helped him to create custom tabletops, paintings on paper and canvas, wood construct sculptures, and even designs of some artistic architectural pieces.

In the past 6 years, Barry has been working to perfect the development of computer-generated art using Fractal software. He morphs these fractal images into expressionistic abstracts that have won a number of competitions.  Now 70 yrs old, he currently lives in Griffin, Georgia and continues to work on his love of abstract art… experimenting with various media.
