In creating this artwork, I was drawn to strong and concise architectural details that bring order through lines, angels, shapes and structure. Vibrant colors also influenced my artistic senses, because they create high energy and stimulate passion. An eye for the intricate and the complicated, as well as a sense of clear composition define this work.
Art should evoke curiosity and emotion. Visual pleasures surround us; we only need to personally observe and experience them, while contemplating their substance, character and beauty. My mission is to challenge the viewer with unexpected subject matter, thus amplifying the experience. I prefer to photograph intricate details of a larger subject in order to create an intimate experience via the imagery.

Ronald David Erskine was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest where he savored the beauty of nature. He worked within the design and architectural field. From those beginnings, Ronald now shares his inner vision and appreciation of lines, angles and color through his photographic imagery. The visual recall of Ronald’s life experiences and global travels have provided him with insight related to the dynamics associated with color, composition, style and design. With his “internal lens” he chooses subject matter that speaks to him and then records what he sees in an effort to create provocative and enjoyable art.
